Julie Kowalewski Ward and her husband CB (Canadian Bill) Ferguson hosted the fifth annual Canada Day party in Lompico.
July 1st is the birthday of Canada.
The first Canada Day Party was held after Bill arrived from Jasper Alberta.
His best man, Bob Klein flew from Calgary to join us on the first Canada Day party which was six of us playing horseshoes in the backyard.
Bob hasn't missed a Canada Day since and we are usually joined by Tom Price of Jasper, Alberta who wasn't able to attend this year.
The party has grown over the years to an annual neighborhood event with over 50 people attending.
The day begins with the raising of the Canadian flag.
Steve Esson from Three Rivers, California has made official Canada Day signs.
At the party there is a Canada Day Quiz, live music and party poppers are shot off after the singing of "Oh, Canada".
We hope that Neil Young perhaps will join us one of these days.
